How do I know it is a lipoma?
Only an examination can tell. A photo helps the doctor guide you, but some lumps feel similar. If the doctor is not sure, an ultrasound or a lab test of the tissue gives a clearer answer.
Does removal hurt?
The area is numbed with local anaesthetic, so you feel pressure rather than pain. Mild soreness for a few days afterwards is normal.
Will there be a scar?
Yes, a small line scar. It usually fades over months. Removing a lipoma while it is small keeps the scar smaller.
Can it be done on the same day?
Often, if the lump is suitable and a doctor is free to do the procedure. Message first so we can check before you travel.
Can I drive home afterwards?
Yes. Only local anaesthetic is used, so most people drive home and go back to normal activity the same day.

Can a lipoma come back?
It is uncommon once fully removed, but a new lipoma can grow somewhere else.
